The Romance Revival

An unforgettable novel in which one fateful accident erases a troubled marriage from memory—and love gets one extraordinary do-over.
Three years ago, Emery Finch did something completely out of character: She got married. To Luca—the impossibly charming landscaper she met on one blistering night in Vegas who made her laugh, made her dance, made her feel.
But now, Emery is consumed by her top-secret job, missing dinners, forgetting anniversaries, and promising herself Luca will understand once her cutting-edge research comes to light. Until the unthinkable happens: A tragic accident takes Luca from her.
Desperate not to lose him, Emery breaks every rule to bring him back. And Luca would probably thank her for it, if only he could remember her. Their first kiss, their Sunny Sundays at the beach, the life they built together...all of it is gone.
It may be a miracle of science, but for Emery it’s her one shot at a second chance. And this time, she won’t waste it—because true love is always worth reviving.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Simon & Schuster Canada for sending me an arc for Christina Lauren's The Romance Revival via Netgalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Oh boy. This one made me cry.
Mostly because, while I cannot relate to being a highly intelligent scientist that demands my time, I think we can all relate to letting things go in our relationships because of the demands of life. Work. Family. Friends. Hobbies. Sometimes, it all gets to be too much, and something has to give. Often, its the most important things, the things we take for granted, that take the hit.
Christina Lauren really brought those feelings to life on the page.
It was easy to fall in love with these characters. Despite Emery's high intellect, she seemed humble. Her sense of humor made her feel like someone I could befriend, in all honesty. Luca was so easy to fall for. His easy charm and laid back personality - he was the ultimate golden retriever. Despite us jumping into their relationship three years in, the obvious love and passion they had for one another didn't waver - not easy to do when there are obvious problems in the relationship.
Ultimately, while the science aspect was a bit far out there, it didn't take away from the story. I immediately wanted these characters to succeed. The overall story hooked me, and I finished it in less than two days - a very rare occurrence this year. While I will always recommend a Christina Lauren book, I definitely think everyone should read The Romance Revival. The romance, the humor, and the ultimate message this book conveys, makes this one a hit.
