Before I begin, I would like to thank Avon and Harper Voyager for sending me an ARC of Grim Tidings in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Did I just find a new instant-read author?

I think I did.

I initially requested this arc because the chatter I had seen on instagram about it. It's release (next week), paired well with what I knew I would be in the mood to read (spooky season is here, folks), so I figured it wouldn't hurt to check out a new-to-me author.

I'm obsessed.

I blew through this book in two days, it was so good.

First of all, the setting is so much fun. A small town filled with hauntings, a guardian angel, and reapers? Not going to lie, I was immediently drawn into the story.

If the story wasn't good enough, she also wrote some pretty great characters. Darcy, often had me both smiling, and crying. Her reluctance over reaping wasn't just cut and dry rebellion. The trauma from her own short life, and being witness to other deaths piling onto that trauma, just led to a break. B.K. Borison weaved a beautiful message about life, death and the beyond that had me in full blown tears.

I also loved Gabriel's character. The guardian angel that has too much on his plate. Who is exhausted and just wants something for himself ... who hasn't felt like this?

While Grim Tidings centers around a reaper and a guardian angel, I related to these characters in a way I wasn't expecting.

Grim Tidings was such an enjoyable read. I honestly can't wait to pick up the first book in this series, Good Spirits ... and B.K. Borison's other books as well.
