Book 2 in the Avalon Bay series
When former bad girl Genevieve West returns home for her mother’s funeral, she’s prepared to keep her distance from her ex-boyfriend, Evan Hartley.
Their history is rife with turbulence. And passion. A heck of a lot of passion... which she’s trying desperately to forget.
But it’s impossible not to run into Evan in the small coastal town where they once ran wild. And the moment she sees her gorgeous ex again, it’s clear to Gen that Evan is still as unruly, sexy, and irresistible as ever. This time around, however, she’s resolved to walk a new path. No more partying. No more foolish mistakes. Her plan is to temporarily remain in town to help her father run his business, but the second he finds somebody else, she’s out of there.
Evan has other ideas. He knows they can be good together, but he just has to convince Genevieve of that, even if it means turning over a new leaf himself. But can a bad reputation ever truly be shed? Do second chances really work? Genevieve and Evan are about to find out.
Bad Girl Reputation by Elle Kennedy is the second book in her Avalon Bay series, and centers around Genevieve West and Evan Hartley. When Genevieve has to come back home to attend her mothers funeral, she has full intentions of staying away from anything that can drag her into her old ways - including her ex-boyfriend Evan. But Avalon Bay is a small town, and it doesn't take long to find herself in Evan's company. Still a bit wild, and very much sexy, Evan tries to get the girl he has always loved back - but she has her own plans. No more drinking, no more crazy parties. And Evan is temptation. But Evan is willing to do anything to get his girl back - including turning over a new leaf. But reputations are a funny thing. No matter what one does to turn their life around, a bad reputation tend to stick around.
If you have read my review for Good Girl Complex, you know that I really enjoyed it. Being a big fan of Elle Kennedy's work, I pretty much knew going in I was going to at minimum LIKE this book, but most likely LOVE this book. And I definitely loved this book. I have a thing of longtime, childhood love stories. Especially ones that occur in a small town. It feels relatable, intimate ... fun. The stories of all their hijinks, the drama ... I just really liked Gen and Evan. They had a natural chemistry. And I REALLY loved their arc. Both of them making choices to better themselves, and seeing the positive outcome to that. And while they obviously had a very passionate, drama filled relationship before, making more adult choices doesn't affect the passion and chemistry between them. So yes - I loved the romance. But I also loved the story. One of the hardest things a person can do is admit that they have a problem, and turning their life around. And while this is a romance, that is what this story is about.
I swear you can't go wrong with Elle Kennedy. Avalon Bay series is turning out to be sweet, character driven romances, with a dash of small town charm. You will enjoy Evan and Gen's story.
