A Bond Beyond Blood
by J. Jameson
Self-Published
Book 1 in A Bond Beyond Blood Trilogy
Elias Bristol. Vincenzo Ricci. Gannon Hayes.
Three vampires with one goal in mind: me.
I’ve dedicated the year since my father’s death to learning how to slay vampires. Specifically, the monster who could have saved him but didn’t. With one of their own training me, I might stand half a chance.
But each training class with Vinny brings us closer together, and things go from complicated to what the actual f*ck when my ex shows up after ghosting me after my father’s funeral and, sure enough, Gannon is now a vampire—with a newfound thirst for my blood.
And sure, two vamps are a lot to handle, but when the Vampire King returns and I fail to kill him even after months of training, my love triangle becomes a freaky foursome—and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying myself thoroughly.

Triggers
This is a book about vampires, so there will be blood. And violence.
And unaliving (decapitation and death by fire at the top of the list)
This story begins with the loss of a parent due to cancer. Other potential triggers are: Blood sharing, Dead Bodies, Stalking, Spanking, Orgasm Denial and Edging.
Before I begin, I would like to thank J. Jameson for sending me an arc of A Bond Beyond Blood via Netgalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Oh, and thanks to my best friend, who read this and the novella (The Butcher's Daughter) before they were combined into one full length novel, and recommended it to me.
I really enjoyed this book.
It took me a while to get through it. Not because of it's length (its actually pretty short), but because I'm going through a hardcore reading slump.
I just can't concentrate.
Despite my ADHD kicking my ass, I did enjoy it.
It definitely brought me back to the days when I was reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. And while this book is dedicated to those who read those books and wanted Sookie to end up with both Eric and Bill ...
that wasn't me.
Bill could kick rocks.
But with these three vampires .... yeah. I'd like to see a happily ever after with these four altogether.
While I sometimes have trouble picturing books with vampires without picturing something cheesy, I found J. Jameson was able to write it in a way that didn't feel that way. In a world where vampire books sometimes feel like the same old story, this is the first one where I felt like we had four different stories. Some with very human elements mixed in.
The seasoned vampire with a debt to pay.
The newly-turned vampire with no one to teach him to control his urges.
The recluse vampire king, who needs to clear out the imposters and take back his throne.
The human who hated vampires and ended up loving three.
All these stories are so interesting to read, and the characters have such different personalities. I will admit to being partial to Elias's chapters, however. Mostly because of his mysterious nature, and his arrogance on page had me snort laugh a few times.
I only really have one complaint about this book, which is hardly a complaint at all.
It's not long enough.
I think if J. Jameson added a little more build up between all of these characters, she could have added a lot more content to her book ... and way more tension. Because while A Bond Beyond Blood is steamy, it just lacks that building tension that I love in a book.
J. Jameson shows a lot of talent. She obviously puts a lot of work and care into her writing, and it shows. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and look forward to the second book in the trilogy.

I spun and looked at myself, frantically running my fingers through my matted hair as I shook my head.
Jack: "Of all the cruel jokes,"
I whispered,
Jack: "I had to end up in bed with him for the first time looking like this?"
Vinny: "First time implies there might be a second time,"
Vinny called from somewhere within my apartment.
And the hits just keep on coming.
Holy shit.
He was absolutely stunning.
His face was chiseled stone, a jawline so sharp you could cut glass on it, but the way his full lips were so soft and pale pink beneath his broad nose. They were almost feminine in their fullness, and it softened him somehow, made him more beautiful than was humanly possible.
Because he's not human, you moron.
My father should have warned me. Should have told me Eli looked like this.
His hair was so blond it was nearly white and slicked back, long on top and cut neatly along the side and in back. His body was long and lean, all hard lines beneath a sleek black suit. Skin as pale as freshly fallen snow stood out in contrast against that bespoke suit, striking in it's beauty, but it was his eyes that captivated me.
The purest icy blue, like the deepest caverns of a glacier -
Elias: "If you're quite finished ..."
I gasped, eyes widening as a realized he'd sat through that entire monologue. He'd heard every bit of it and hadn't stopped me.
He tilted his head, boredom evident in the way he watched me, but then his brows furrowed.
Elias: "Feminine lips, though? Really?"
Jack: "Oh my god."
'He doesn't know about you...'
My father's words crept into my mind once more, unbidden. The way he'd said them with such urgency sent a trickle of fear down my spine.
'He'll want you when he sees.'
Eli hummed thoughtfully.
Elias: "He wasn't wrong."
Elias: "Poor thing thinks she might have broken her tailbone; isn't that right, love?"
Fuck you.
Elias: "Now, now, pet, don't go making promises you don't intend to keep."
Eli winked, then whispered,
Elias: "If it helps at all, petit colibri, I find you equally fascinating."
Elias: "She needs blood,"
Eli repeated, reminding me of what had woken me in the first place.
Jack: "No,"
I rasped.
Never.
Eli: "Never?"
Eli chuckled.
Eli: "Suit yourself."
I don't want vampire blood inside of me.
Eli barked out a laugh.
Eli: "But our cocks are fair game?"
Eli: "Stubbornness does not alter reality, Jacqueline; it simply delays acceptance. No matter. We're not finished, petit colibri, but I will give you a fortnight to heal before I return. The way I see it, you belong to me -"
Vinny growled, but Eli's attention remained on me.
Eli: "Be it by blood bond or blood shared, I feel our story has only just begun."
Gannon: "Bro -"
I raised my hand.
Vinny: "I am not, nor will I ever be, your bro."
His eyes tightened at the corners as they flicked back and forth between mine, nostrils flaring as he breathed me in, then he smiled devilishly when he caught a hint of the desire bloomed in my core.
Jack: "Don't do that,"
I whispered, feigning annoyance.
Vinny: "Don't want me quite so loudly then, little Fiorino."
Eli: "Come sit on my lap,"
Eli said in that voice.
The sound of the voice he used to compel created a throbbing pulse between my legs, but I ignored him.
Vinny: "What are you doing? You already proved you can't -"
Eli chuckled.
Eli: "Seems she likes the way I sound, even if I cannot bend her to my will."
Jack: "Oh my god,"
I groaned, throwing my hands up into the air.
Jack: "Get out!"
Elias laughed and I jerked back from the sound.
Eli: "Promises, promises,"
he said as he lowered Jackie to the ground.
My brow furrowed as I watched her cheeks turn red with anger, but then she dropped her gaze to the floor and growled,
Jack: "Stay out of my head."
Eli: "But it's such a filthy, delightful place."
