Book 4 of Mountain Men Matchmaker

Rule #1 on the Everly Fletcher Matchmaking Manifesto…Never fall for your best friend’s grumpy brother.

Everly is the matchmaking mastermind of her family, but her own love life is a bit of a flop.

Back from four years in Dublin, she’s ready for a quiet summer on Fletcher Mountain helping launch her aunt’s animal rescue center—until Conri “Wolf” Reilly shows up.

Wolf is her college roommate’s infuriating twin brother. He’s brooding, Irish, and college rugby’s resident bad boy with thighs that could crack a watermelon.

His red card reputation has trashed his rugby prospects…until a training camp in Denver comes calling. As a favor, Everly reluctantly gets Wolf a place to stay if he volunteers at the rescue center.

Now Everly’s finds herself working and living next door to the Irish tattooed grump who treats her like a nuisance—but looks at her like he could press her up against a hay bale until they forget their own names.

Wolf swore he came to America to fix his image, not fall for his sister’s best friend, but the more time he spends with Everly, the harder it is to keep his distance.

Perhaps Everly’s in her bad boy era…or maybe Fletcher Mountain might has its own matchmaking plans.

Before I begin, I would like to thank MIRA, Amy Daws, and her team for sending me an ARC of Bad Boy Era in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Okay. I lied.

Honeymoon Phase is not my favorite of the Mountain Men Matchmaker series.

Bad Boy Era is.

From start to finish, I adored this book.

I mean, who doesn't love a best friend's brother romance? Especially with characters that embody the grumpy sunshine trope.

I wasn't sure how much I would like this book going into it, particularly with Everly. As a ... pessimistic person by nature, her relentlessness on happily ever after's didn't draw me in. However, I felt like Amy did a good job turning a one dimensional character into a FMC that felt much more layered.

I can relate to a character that masks what is going on inside to the benefit of those around her. Everly surprised me.

I thoroughly enjoyed Everly's very limited knowledge of rugby, and how she described certain things.

How could I not also fall for Wolf - or better yet, Conri?

A hot, grumpy Irish man, who is a secret sweetheart - um, yes please. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but I got to say - any scene in this book that involves Conri and an animal - especially an alpaca, is gold.

I enjoyed these two complete opposites being stuck together on a mountain. Their personal arcs were just as great as their relationship storyline.

I was hooked right away.

The tension was wonderful.

The story was interesting and light.

The sex was hot.

Bad Boy Era was exactly what I was hoping for.

Bad Boy Era releases today! I highly recommend picking it up ... and judging by the hints in the epilogue, I think I'm invested in Amy Daws next book ...

These quotes are from the first chapter in the sneak peek in Honeymoon Phase. I will post my favorite quotes from the rest of the book after the book has been out for a while. :)

This is rugby. Who the hell came up with it? At a glance, it’s a bunch of barbaric-looking guys in way-too-short shorts and jerseys that are two sizes too small feeling each other up and doing Cirque du Soleil acrobatics just to catch an overinflated football. Seriously, if I wanted to watch thirty guys hugging for eighty minutes, I could have stayed in my dorm and watched gay porn.

It’s ridiculous how something as simple as a giant T-shirt can elicit such elemental sensations. It’s just too big, too boyish, too much of him. It inspires thoughts of prehistoric gender roles—me getting knocked over the head and carried back into the big, strong caveman’s lair. You, Tarzan. Me, Jane. Me, horny for big, strong thighs.

Everly: “This is kind of like American football and soccer had a baby,”

I exclaim with a cheery smile, feeling like maybe I understand a bit more now.

Cliona: “And the Saints wept,”

Cliona murmurs, her head jerking around in fear of someone overhearing what I just said.

More coming soon ...
