Love Song
by Elle Kennedy
Published by Bloom Books
A Briar universe standalone romance featuring the next generation Off-Campus characters—where one unforgettable summer changes everything.
After a brutal breakup, college junior Blake Logan escapes to her family’s lake house in Tahoe, determined to shut out the world. Her plan is simple: no men, no drama. Until Wyatt Graham shows up. Four years older and far too good at getting under her skin, Wyatt is the living embodiment of a “bad idea,” and the guy who shattered her pride when she confessed her crush at sixteen.
With his music career stalled, Wyatt has come to Tahoe for inspiration. The last thing he expects is to find it with Blake. He’s spent years keeping his distance, convinced he’s all wrong for her, but she’s no longer the innocent girl he once knew. She’s confident, captivating, and impossible to ignore. And the slow-burning tension between them? It’s catching fire fast.
They both know this can’t last, but one reckless kiss turns into another, and soon they’re tangled in something that feels dangerously like more. Just as they finally give in to the pull, tragedy tears them apart, leaving their hearts in pieces.
But forgetting that one, nearly perfect summer? Not a chance. And when fate brings them together again, Blake and Wyatt must decide if this is a second chance…or the final verse.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Elle Kennedy and her publicity team for picking me as one of the few lucky ones to get an ARC of Love Song, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
It's no secret that Elle Kennedy is an instant buy author for me. I've been excited for the upcoming release, and was patiently waiting for March 17th. Then, while doom-scrolling Facebook, I saw that Elle's team had a very-limited amount of arcs to give away to reviews.
I applied, thinking I wouldn't get picked, because they emphasized how limited it was, and I haven't been reviewing in a few months.
When I got the email saying I was one of the picks, I literally kicked my feet in excitement.
Of course, the arc was sent right before I started work for the day, which made for a very long day.
Love Song was everything I expected it to be, and more.
I was expecting the childhood friends turned lovers. I was expecting the pain of unrequited love. I knew I was in for heaps of sexual tension.
I even expected the angst.
I don't know why I wasn't expecting the beautiful journeys Blake and Wyatt travel throughout the book, in not only finding someone who see's them, but seeing themselves. Coming to terms with who they are, and how they fit into the world.
I should have expected that.
The magic of Elle Kennedy's books is that they're not just romance. They're not just sex. They have complicated, imperfect characters, and often messy, confusing relationships. They often have trauma - whether it's something big or small - and the difficulties of living with that. They remind you of the value of friendship and family. Altogether, her books are so relatable and enjoyable because of how real they feel.
Love Song was the epitome of what we all love about Elle's books.
It made me laugh - a lot. (those family chats are amazing)
It made me cry.
The tension made my toes curl.
Blake and Wyatt are now one of my favorite Briar couples - up there with Hannah and Garrett, and Gigi and Luke.
Love Song was worth the wait, and I can't wait till everyone else can get their hands on a copy. Love Song releases on March 17th, 2026

Will release tropes after release :)
