THE VOW

I had my chance to run from these brutal boys and I didn’t take it. The bonds between us are too strong now. Bonds of blood, oaths, betrayal and vengeance. And I intend to make good on all of them. I’ve made my list. And I won’t stop until each and every one of their crimes has been paid for.

Divide and conquer. We’re going to tear them apart from the inside out. I won’t quit until I’ve had my pound of flesh and then some. These broken boys paint themselves up as kings and stand themselves on a pedestal above everybody else. But that only means they’ve got further to fall. And they’re going to fall hard.

I know their strength now, but I’ve learned their weaknesses too. And I might just be becoming their greatest one. My father taught me how to survive, and it’s time to use everything I know about predators to lure them into my own trap.

Lies, betrayal, seduction. I’ll use every weapon at my disposal to bring them to their knees and once I’m done with them, they won’t own me.

I’ll own them.

Genre:

Bully Romance

Kings of Lockdown by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti is the second book in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. It centers around Tatum, the Night Keepers - Saint, Blake and Kyan - and Monroe. It immediately starts up where we left off in the first book. Despite Saint, Blake and Kyan saving Tatum, and killing her attacker, they don't plan to treat Tatum any better - in fact, they try to ramp it up. Tatum and Monroe have a plan, though. Just because they are all connected by this secret, doesn't mean they don't want revenge against the Night Keepers for everything they done. And Tatum won't stop until she gets her revenge.

Nope. No. Listen, I wasn't going to continue this series. But then I read It Ends With Us, and after the emotional wrecking I was going through, I needed something ridiculous to read. So I figured, why not TRY the second book of this series. I got to 23% before I gave up. 23%. Same problems as before. Guys being dicks just because it lifts their dicks to be in positions of power. I just ... can't.

Again, as much as I love the Twisted Sisters, I can't get into this. But if you love a true bully romance, this might work for you.

Saint: “My routine is fucked, Barbie. All of it is fucked. What am I supposed to do with myself?”

He turned his gaze to the clock on the wall with a growl, muttering something about it being twelve forty three and that being an insult to the whole of humanity.

Tatum: “Maybe you should get some rest,”

I suggested, noticing the dark circles under his eyes.

Saint: “I suppose. But if I don’t sleep until tomorrow morning and start again fresh I’m going to kill myself.”

Woah, grumps alert. Saint: “You’re still ours,”

he said in a voice that was powerful and rang right through to the core of my being. I let that fact settle over me and one simple answer shone clearly in my mind. Something I was entirely sure was true and yet seemed impossible at the same time.

Tatum: “I know. But you’re all mine now, too.”
