End of the Month Challenge Update

Why, hello fellow book nerds.

I hope you are keeping safe AND making time to focus on your mental health.

This year, I decided to sign up for some reading challenges. While I adore reading, with my overwhelming tbr list, sometimes its nice to have challenges to point you towards a book. So here is a monthly roundup.

GOODREADS READING CHALLENGE

I challenged myself to read 150 books this year. I am currently at 16 books read (maybe 17 before the day is done), and 4 books ahead of schedule. It's looking good!

THE BACKLIST READER CHALLENGE hosted by The Bookwyrms Hoard

This challenges rules are simple. If the book has been in your tbr list for a year or more, and wasn't published in 2020, it counts. This months books that count toward this challenge is:

CHUNKSTER READING CHALLENGE hosted by Impressions in Ink

Very simple challenge. Any book you read that is over 450 pages in their hardcover form, counts.

My Chunkster books for January, 2021 are:

Pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

READ THE ALPHABET CHALLENGE hosted by Do You Dog-Ear? and Shooting Stars Mag

Also a very simple challenge. Each month is assigned some letters. Read a book that starts with that letter. Simple as this is, I only accomplished half of the challenge. I signed up a bit late in the month, and was too busy with other books that I could not complete an "A" book. This month, the challenge was two books that started with A and B. I did read a book that started with B though.

THE HISTORICAL READING CHALLENGE hosted by The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader

I'm not a HUGE historical fiction reader, but I do enjoy is from time to time. I have challenged myself to read 15 books this year. Lucky for me, any sort of historical fiction counts, so I do have one book down for this challenge. It's Historical-fantasy, and seems to be centered around historical France.

THE NETGALLEY AND EDELWEISS READING CHALLENGE hosted by Socrates' Book Reviews

I'm not doing good on this one. haha. I challenged myself to get to level Silver, which is 25 books, but as of right now, I only have one book on my kindle from NetGalley, and I want to wait to closer to release to review it. With my insane schedule, I haven't actively looked for more books, but I will endeavor to do so.

So that is it for this month! Are you signed up for any challenges? Host one? Let me know in the comments!
