The Assassin's Blade
Dorian is first seen in The Assassin's Blade, during The Assassin and the Underworld in disguise. He attends the same party as Celaena and Sam, masked with three other men. Despite their hidden faces, Celaena immediately knows the men are nobility because of their clothes. He notices Celaena dancing, and after she smiles and turns her back to him, he comes up behind her to start dancing. Sam intervenes, and tells Dorian she is spoken for. When Chaol goes to defend Dorian, Dorian steps away and walks off.
In The Assassin and the Empire, we learn that Dorian is vacationing along the Surian coast, with Chaol at his side.
