Timing has never been on our side.

I've carried a torch for Jeremy since junior high school days. Whenever we grew closer, something happened to pull us apart again. If I had one wish this Christmas, it would be for a chance with Jeremy.

Jeremy

She's my best friend's little sister and I've wanted to taste those sweet lips since we were in high school. Just when I thought I might have the chance I discovered she was dating another guy.

But what happens when, during one magical Christmas getaway, we finally decide to take that chance?

IT'S DECEMBER 1st!

If you are a regular around these parts, you will know that I devote most of the month of December to Holiday novels, and short stories. It's my favorite kind of countdown - one that includes books!

Starting off the countdown this year, is a short story called "It Was Always You". Remember wayyyyyy back in March of this year, when I read and reviewed Brenna Aubrey's Gaming the System Series? Well, this little story is in the same world as that series. It's much to short to do a review on, to be honest. Less than a hundred pages. So no review here. But if you like that series, you will enjoy this little book. Hell, if you haven't read any of the series, you can still get away with reading this, as it is truly a standalone in the series. Enjoy!

Jeremy: "She left because she knew ..."

Mic: "She knew what?"

Jeremy: That it was always you."

Mic: "I ...."

I shook my head, unable to find the words to reply to that, muted by joy and terror at once.

He moved up to me again, this time placing one hand on each cheek.

Jeremy: "Always. Since that first day I came over to play with your brother Doug in middle school and you wouldn't leave us alone. Since that day I helped you when you scraped up your knees. When you failed your algebra test and tried to hide your tears when you asked me to tutor you. Since that day you helped me practice my graduation speech over and over again, listening for hours, helping me memorize it, cheering every single time I finished it. Since ..."

Mic: "Since the beginning ..."

Mic: "Jeremy. For me, it was always you, too."
